Nebraska has landed three-star tight end Austin Allen from Aurora high school. The 2017 prospect is the fifth commitment in the Huskers 2017 class. Allen committed to head coach Mike Riley and Nebraska during the Huskers' last spring practice on Thursday.
"I went up there to practice today and it just felt like home," Allen told Big Red Report in a text message before his announcement.
Allen decided to stay home, after picking up offers from Iowa, Iowa State and UCF.
The tight end was offered by Nebraska in mid-February, as week after National Signing Day.
“It was ridiculous to hear from Nebraska. I hadn’t gotten any offers, so for Nebraska to come in, it was out of the blue,” said Allen at the time. “It caught me by surprise, but I had to talk to the coaches, talk with my family and see the campus."
