After Enrolling Early Will Patrick O'Brien And Derrion Grim Play Early?

Nebraska had two early enrollees this spring. After 15 spring practices, will they play as true freshman?

WR.) Derrion Grim – Freshman

Grim has been getting extra work with the top two units due to Jordan Westerkamp’s groin injury. With Westerkamp’s return this spring in doubt and Brandon Reilly’s ticket for suspicion of DUI earlier this month (could cost him game time), don’t be surprised to see Nebraska really try to get Grim ready for their opener against Fresno State. He’s a precise route-runner and further ahead than expected by most scouting services.

QB.) Patrick O'Brien - Freshman

There is no doubt that senior Tommy Armstrong is the starter heading into the season, but O'Brien could contend for the back-up job with Ryker Fyfe this fall.  Nebraska will need to have confidence in their quarterback recruiting of the future (2017, Tristan Gebbia)  and not redshirt O'Brien. He will need game work before the 2017 season, when he is expected to take over the starting job.
