A position that has caused Nebraska head coach Tim Miles headaches over the years, Miles finally landed his big man of the future on Monday. Jordy Tshimang, a four-star prospect in the 2016 class from Massachusetts, pledged his services to the Huskers.
"A bruising post player, Jordy Tshimanga has legitimate size at 6-foot-11, 265-pounds. He also boasts a 7-2 wingspan. Tshimanga is strong, physical and tough around the basket," said Scout.com national recruiting analyst Evan Daniels. "He rebounds his area well and when he plays hard can have major impact in this area. Although he's not ultra quick off his feet because of his pure size and length, Tshimanga can impact things defensively and with shot blocking. Offensively, Tshimanga is limited at this stage, but he will fight for position and is a decent finisher with his left hand. The next step is developing a go-to move and playing with effort every time out."
The center had offers from schools such as UNLV, Arizona, Minnesota, Boston College, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech and South Florida throughout the recruiting process.
Big Red Report will have more on the senior's pledge in the coming hours.
