Gretna (Nebraska) high school offensive lineman Patrick Arnold was asked to come back to the Huskers' Fright Night Lights Camp this week, after impressing offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh at Nebraska's Big Man Camp nearly two-weeks ago.
Arnold's decision was a solid one.
"I challenged Anthony Payne (2017 Missouri prep) and won two reps against him," said Arnold. "Then they moved me to tackle to go against him and I'd call that won a draw. But the rest of mine I won very convincingly
"Coach Cav said that if I were a few inches taller, it would be a different story and I'd be offered already. He said that if they take an interior guy, it'll be me. That don't know if they will take one though."
The soon to be senior already holds an offer from Wyoming and multiple schools could be close to jumping in the mix.
"I'm happy with my performance. I gave it my all. Guys like (Ryan) Gunderson and (Kenny) Wilhite said that I gave it my all and that's all I can do, and also they're pulling for me! But I know that the Man upstairs has a plan and I just have to trust the plan."
So it appears Arnold is in a holding pattern and someone to keep evaluating during the fall.
