Nebraska junior kicker Drew Brown was one of 30 players named to the watch list for the Lou Groza National Collegiate Place-Kicker Award.
After only making 67 percent of his kicks during his freshman season, Brown pushed it to 77 percent in 2015, nailing 21-of-27 field goals with his long coming from 50 yards. His efforts earned him second-team All-Big Ten honors by both the Associated Press and Big Ten Media.
Brown’s 21 field goals in 2015 was the second highest single-season total for Nebraska. The junior was 14 of 17 from field goals 30 to 49 yards.
Brown also handled kickoffs, logging 32 touchbacks during the season on 79 kickoffs.
A total of three Big Ten kickers made the list.
