Recruiting breakdown: Nebraska vs Maryland

A look at the Terrapins and Cornhuskers from a recruiting perspective.

Setting the scene:

No. 18 Nebraska (8-2, 5-2) hosts Maryland (5-5, 2-5) on Saturday that could play a factor in both team's postseason.

Recruiting in the other's backyard:

- Maryland generally stays out of Nebraska. The Terrapins currently have zero players on their roster from the state.

- Nebraska currently has one player from the state of Maryland, junior linebacker Marcus Newby, a former three-star prospect who had an offer from the in-state squad.

Storyline:

It is late in the year and injuries hurting teams is not surprising. Both squads in our list have a projected quarterback who didn't start the year under center. Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong would have pushed the Huskers' offensive rating higher. Armstrong is a four-star prospect compared to Ryker Fyfe, who was a walk-on out of high school. Caleb Row is projected to start at Maryland, over Perry Hills.

2016 DEPTH CHART (With recruiting rating)
*Years = years out of high school, not with the team.
**Ratings are the newest available rating, so in the case a player went to JUCO, it is their JUCO rating, not HS rating.
