After standing out on both sides of the football for the Bennington (NE) Badgers in 2016, senior athlete Cody Liske received some big news over the weekend.
The 6-foot, 195-pounder will start his career as a linebacker at Nebraska. Director of high school relations Kenny Wilhite was the member of the staff to extend the preferred walk-on spot to Liske.
"I was ecstatic," said Liske in a message. "It's a dream come true. My parents were equally as excited - more my mom than my dad (hahaha)...Nebraska is where I want to be. It's been a dream of mine for a long time."
As a linebacker Liske finished with 89 tackles in 10 games, with a fumble recovery. He also rushed for 657 and nine scores on 142 carries.
"I would describe myself as a someone who's physical, fast, and enjoys hitting people," said the senior.
We will catch up with the Nebraska Class B standout closer to National Signing Day.
