Scouting Report:

Thomas is more of a hybrid that plays with his hand in the dirt on the high school level, but regardless where he lines up, there's no denying his ability to provide constant pressure on the quarterback. He also plays with discipline when engaged in a one-on-one battle with the ball carrier.

Thomas is more of a finesse pass rusher that utilizes his speed and athleticism to his advantage, but he's also very aggressive when disengaging off blocks. This is a good looking athlete that has to continue to pack on weight and strengthen up his frame.

This Miami-Dade native also provides that pop at the point of attack. Once Thomas locates the football and changes direction, he does a nice job of accelerating and driving through his opponent. He can sometimes wrap up and tackle a little too high, but regardless, he certainly makes his presence known once it's time to clock in.

Thomas is not the most fluid athlete that can flip his hips and change direction with ease, but plays with a tremendous amount of effort and relentlessness once locking onto the football. Thomas will wake you up in a hurry, and is just tenacious when taking his opponent to the grass.

Thomas can really expose offensive tackles with his ability to gain the first step and burst off the ball. He possesses the versatility and skill set to suit up at defensive end, as long as he gets stronger and thicker, but will likely scoot back to outside linebacker.

This is another intriguing get out of South Florida for Mike Riley and the Cornhuskers.
