Nebraska defensive backs coach Donte' Williams hasn't been with Nebraska long - yet his impact has already been felt on the recruiting trail.
Williams, 34, played a major factor in the Huskers landing four-star corner Elijah Blades last week on National Signing Day. He also was a co-lead recruiter with Keith Williams for highly sought after 2018 recruit Eric Fuller - who committed to Nebraska recently.
When it comes to recruiting out West - Williams is highly thought of. Considered one of the best. He's also making that type of money.
But...in a recent interview with the Lincoln Journal Star, it appears Williams wants to be known for more than his recruiting ability.
"To be honest, if everybody likes what I'm doing as a recruiter, or feels comfortable with me as a recruiter, they have no idea what I am as a coach," Williams told the Lincoln Journal Star. "I've always said this: If you had to say the top five things about me as far as coaching or recruiting, coaching would be ranked 1, 2, 3, 4. Recruiting would be 5. It's not even close.
"So if they think I'm a good recruiter, just let them come to practice or watch us on a gameday and they're going to see how I am as a coach."

Our first look at Williams will come in just a few short weeks at spring practices. Until then, we can just watch his recruiting efforts. Here are a few names he will be heavily after this recruiting cycle.
