Report: Bob Elliot to be hired by Nebraska

Nebraska is expected to hire veteran assistant coach Bob Elliot according to multiple reports, including the Lincoln Journal Star.

According to multiple reports, Nebraska is expected to hire Bob Elliott as an assistant coach. The veteran will coach safeties. 247sports.com was the first to report the news. 

Elliot coached safeties at Notre Dame in 2012 and 2013 when Nebraska defensive coordinator Bob Diaco was the Irish's defensive play-caller. Over the course of his career, he has had stops at Iowa State, Kansas State, Iowa, Ball State and Kent State. 

Over the last two years, Elliot has been a special assistant to the head coach in South Bend.
