Nebraska RB board/wishlist

A look at the Nebraska running back.

After failing to land two running backs in the 2017 class, Nebraska will likely target two in 2018.

We take a look at the board.  A former West Hills (Cali.) Chaminade College Prep standout, Pledger is headed to IMG Academy in Florida for his senior year.

Chaminade is the home of former Nebraska running back Terrell Newby and Pledger is well aware of the former four-star high school prep.

“He’s (Terrell) like a big bro to me. He obviously was at my school before I got there," said Pledger.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound runner attended Nebraska's satellite camp last summer in Los Angeles.

“The camp was great. I got a chance to work personally with Coach (Reggie) Davis. I had a good time. A lot of my friends were there. It was a good turnout,” said Pledger at the time. “He said that I’m very explosive and that he likes it. He said he thinks I could be a home run threat guy. He wants me to work on running in and out of my routes and continue with the fundamentals. Those are what separate guys at the next level.”

Pledger has already committed to play in the Army All-American game in 2018. The brother of Nebraska 2017 early enrollee Avery Roberts, the junior has an early offer from Nebraska, North Carolina and Syracuse.

Roberts was named to the All-USA Delaware first team in 2016, despite missing most of the second half of the season. He still rushed for 848 yards on 88 carries with 12 touchdowns.

“I would say biggest progress from sophomore to junior year was his strength and size,” said Concord head coach Greg Mitchell. “When healthy, he was pretty dominating and we were not the same team offensively without him.” Bishop Gorman high school (Las Vegas) is a D-1 factory and Bennett is a national style recruit – ultimately a kid that will be a tough pull for anyone.

He has an offer, but expect him to stay out west. Thomas was offered on Friday afternoon, picking up an offer from Arizona State shortly after. So far nearly 20+ schools have jumped into his recruitment.

A three-star prospect, Thomas rushed for 1,606 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2016 according to

Thomas has an offer from Alabama and is visiting Ohio State this weekend.
