Brewster Academy (New Hampshire) guard Thomas Allen has committed to Nebraska. The four-star prospect was once signed to NC State, but was granted a release after the firing of head coach Mark Gottfried.

Allen, who recently picked up an offer from Kansas, also had schools like Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Xavier offer throughout the process.

"Thomas Allen is a high-level shot maker and scorer," said Recruiting Director Evan Daniels at the time of Allen's first commitment.  "He shoots it well from deep, but is also crafty off the bounce and has developed a nice floater." recruiting analyst Brian Snow added, "Even though his measurables don't indicate a big-time player, he is super-skilled and has an excellent feel for the game."

Allen talked about his commitment with "

"The deciding factor for me was the relationship I have with Coach Miles and Coach Hunter. I’m coming in to play the point guard which was tremendous for me. They treat me like family & I feel the most comfortable with them. My family loves everything about Nebraska which is a plus for me! The opportunity I would have as a freshman was hard to pass up"

Allen was voted the player of the year by the New England Prep School Athletic Conference. Brewster finished 33-0.
