Nebraska prospect profile: Calvin Avery

In this Scout video, national recruiting analyst Greg Powers takes a look at Dallas (Tex.) Bishop Dunne defensive tackle Calvin Avery.

Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne high school four-star defensive tackle Calvin Avery has visited Nebraska multiple times. With former teammate @Damion Daniels signed and 2019 teammate Marquez Beason committed to the Huskers, Nebraska should be in a good spot to stay in Avery's recruitment until the very end. In 13 games for the state runner-up Falcons, Avery recorded 68 tackles and 12 sacks. He shows a solid first step and his size allows him to already take on double-teams.

Avery visited Nebraska last summer for one of the Huskers' Friday Night Lights camps. He made a return visit to Lincoln for the Red-White game.

With 20+ offers, the junior has schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Notre Dame, Colorado and Texas A&M chasing after him.
