Nebraska target Trevor Trout drops schools he's currently interested in

St. Louis (Missouri) Chaminade College Prep defensive tackle Trevor Trout lists schools he's interested in.

St. Louis (Missouri) Chaminade College Prep defensive tackle Trevor Trout has had an offer from Nebraska for over a year. On Wednesday, the soon to be senior announced a list of schools he's interested in.

"I’m still waiting to cut my list during the summer," Trout told over the weekend.  "Right now I’m worried more about school, so I’m not to the point yet of cutting down my schools."

Trout didn't make it to a Nebraska contest in the fall, but did visit Lincoln during the Friday Night Lights series in June. Nebraska staff member Kenny Wilhite also visited Trout's school in January on a St. Louis swing. Trout isn't one to talk much unless you catch him in person. In late October and again this spring, he did tell Scout Nebraska was one of three schools recruiting him the hardest. Two years ago Nebraska landed defensive lineman Carlos and Khalil Davis out of Missouri, beating out Missouri for the twins.

"Trout is a tank in the middle of his defense," said national recruiting analyst Greg Powers. "He is the type of prospect in the middle who will command a double team and once he is established into a gap he will not be moved. He has a pretty quick first step for a big guy and is very strong. He is at his best when he is blowing up blocks and helping to control the opponents run game. As he grows and matures and gains more natural strength he is definitely a guy who can take on and defeat double-teams. He is a defensive tackle who can move around the line of scrimmage and help be a disruptive force on the inside and collapse the pocket."

In nine games last season, Trout had 60 tackles and four sacks.

Trout currently has offers from 20+ schools, with the likes of: Arizona State, Arkansas, Iowa, LSU, Ole Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas,  UCLA, USC and NC State.
