Rodney Gallon - LB - 6-0, 205, 4.5/40 - Tallahassee, FL (Lincoln)
Sometimes you have to wait until the end of the season to have one of those types of games that grabs everyone's attention. Lincoln high just played one, only their second game into the season. Facing Edgewater in what was a nationally rated game by the USA Today, Lincoln High went all the way to the wire against Edgewater, Lincoln's defense ultimately being the deciding factor.
One of those major factors was Gallon, already considered a force and easily taking his stock higher each week he plays. Against a team that like Lincoln is amongst Florida's best, Gallon showed just a bit of why he is rated so high. "I believe I had 13 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 forced fumble." Rodney said. "I think that's it."
That's it? Against a team like Edgewater, those kind of stats are considered "it", but "IT" as Gallon and company put away one powerhouse and next week, they take on another, traveling into hostile territory as they go to face the nation's winningest high school football team ever, Valdosta high school in Georgia.
As for the recruiting, Gallon like many of his teammates aren't even looking at any of that right now as per an agreement each made with their head coach, what matters now is what gets Lincoln to yet another state title.
With that being said, Rodney is still getting phone calls. Actually, so many, he can't keep track of them all. "I can't remember one day to the next who calls me." Rodney said. "I just can't keep track of them all."
Most would agree, that's a nice problem to have.
