Joe Manning - CB - 6-0, 170, 4.4/40 - Tallahassee, FL (Lincoln)
Coming into this season, the game against Edgewater was rated as one of the top games throughout the entire country to happen this year. It was to be one of Lincoln high's sternest tests, at least early on as like Lincoln, Edgewater was considered one of the Florida prep elite. In a game that featured great defense, it's defensive players that shined, Joe Manning being one of them.
For the game, Manning helped Lincoln with a reported sack, an interception, one pass break-up and right around 7 tackles. "I just felt good that I could help the team in such a big game." Joe said. "It felt great that we played hard all four quarters and came away with the victory."
Next week, Manning's team faces the legendary Valdosta, Georgia team that is the winningest high school football team in the country with right around 800 total wins. It's a rivalry of sorts that dates back to 1999, where Lincoln has beat Valdosta 3 times, lost once and tied once as well.
Manning has been receiving phone calls from all of the usual candidates such as Nebraska, Florida, Louisville, Iowa State, etc. and so on. Manning like the rest of his team isn't even thinking about recruiting right now. "We promised our coach, so I'm not planning anything until the season is over."
