Stephen Green of Pulaski Academy, Little Rock, AR (6-0, 175, 4.43) is looking forward to his team's first playoff game this weekend. He has amassed some impressive numbers on the ground as a RB this season, 995 to be exact, while also playing defense. Stephen had the opportunity to throw a bit of good-natured criticism his coach's way upon hearing that "995" today. As fate would have it, his coach pulled him out of the last game a bit early, unaware of Green's proximity to 1,000 yards. "He said he would have left me in if he knew," laughed Green.
Stephen has not set any official visits yet but offered good hints as to who will be getting them. In reviewing his list of favorites, Stephen revealed that Iowa, LSU, Missouri and Nebraska are schools of high interest to him, Arkansas being medium while North Carolina and Vanderbilt round out his top seven. He will probably take all five officials then make his decision in either December or January. His prime criterion will be how the official trips impact him, "Whichever visit blows me away is where I'll go."
Stephen is willing to play receiver, running back or defense in college but prefers safety. His brother, Greg Wesley, has been atop the depth chart at strong safety for the Kansas City Chiefs for four years. Greg's achievements motivate Stephen, and they talk frequently, but he has ruled out his brother's alma mater (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) as his future school. "It's too small" states Green.
Stephen says he might major in business in college but feels that the first year of general studies will afford him time to put more thought into that decision. Intelligent, composed and athletic, Stephen Green should be a success regardless of where he signs.
