Gulla still hearing from Huskers

Gulla had a busy day planned. First he was in College Station, Texas for the Nike camp at Texas A&M. Mother nature had second thoughts about that and rained the camp out. Tonight though he is heading to prom.

This summer could be all about exposure for Tony Gulla. The first half of the summer the 6-foot wide receiver from Austin Westlake High School will be hitting a lot of camps. After that though it will be time to get in shape and ready for the season.

"I'm working on a weight program right now. I am going to go to a lot of camps in June," Gulla said. "I'm going to the Texas, Yale, San Diego State, SMU, Texas Tech and the Arizona State camps."

"Nebraska has sent me some camp brochures and some things on their junior day. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it or not. But I think that I might. I have so much to do this summer. I will be at SMU for the MSL Combine."

Claiming no offers yet, Gulla has been getting good attention from SMU and Yale.

"SMU has been sending me some hand-written stuff. Yale has been sending me a lot of mail too. How can you not like Yale?"

Nebraska's mail to Gulla is about the same as it has been with no hand-written mail consisting of just letters.

After hauling in 10 receptions as a sophomore and 49 last season Gulla only needs 50 more to break the record at his school for the career mark. Tony played more of a possession receiver role last year for Westlake, but this year he will be looked too more for the big-play.
