McCoy still waiting word from Nebraska

The phone rang but it went unanswered. What is Nebraska thinking now with Rico McCoy? The last time we found Rico a Nebraska offer was almost a guarantee.

Rico McCoy, the 6-foot-2 and 215 pound linebacker from St. John's College High School in Washington D.C., didn't have any offer news to offer this week from Nebraska. Not like he was hoping to be able to deliver.

"Coach Elmassion called me and no one answered the phone here. I have to call him back," McCoy said. "Someone from Nebraska should be at my school before the end of the week though."

Before Nebraska showed up at Rico's school a week or so ago Nebraska hadn't even sent McCoy a letter. Additionally, McCoy wasn't considering the Huskers.

This past week Rico participated in an Elite College camp on Tuesday and Thursday after it got rained out on Monday. He was hoping to put on a show and he impressed at least one school.

"It went good. There were a couple of college coaches there: Boston College, Miami (FL), Maryland, Virginia, Syracuse, Connecticut, and Penn State were all there."

"Miami said that they were going to offer me. That was good news. They spoke to my coach about the offer."

As for right now McCoy may have been at his last camp. "I think that I am finished with camps. I just want to work out. I will probably take some unofficials over the summer."

"I've been to Pitt. I'll probably go to Boston College, North Carolina, Miami, Ohio State, and if Nebraska offers I'd go check them out. I've been to Syracuse and Maryland too."
