Patience pays off for McCoy

When we last spoke to Rico McCoy that Nebraska offer wasn't there. Before that he thought it was just a matter of time. The Huskers finally came through with an offer.

It seemed like a given a month ago that the interest that Rico McCoy was getting meant that an offer was close from Nebraska. That day finally came.

"Coach Elamassian called and offered from Nebraska," McCoy said. "The offer got here yesterday." The Nebraska offer and one from Michigan have pushed the offer total to 11 for McCoy.

Rico is a 6-foot-2 and 215 pound linebacker at St. John's College High School in Washington D.C. Nebraska's interest in McCoy is fairly recent. Before the evaluation period McCoy hadn't heard from Nebraska.

It's no secret that an offer from Nebraska would go a long way. Rico has previously commented that an offer would secure Nebraska a visit.

Nebraska has finally thrown their hat into the ring for Rico McCoy. Rico last year tallied 120 tackles and five sacks and earned first team all-conference honors as a junior linebacker.
