Nation's top tight end holding Nebraska offer

His stats may not indicate that he was productive on the field, but if you were just looking at his stats you would overlook a few things. First is his protypical size as a tight end. And second would be his incredible athleticism for a man his size.

DajLeon Farr is a 6-foot-6 and 240 pound tight end that can run a 4.7/40. He has consistently been the top choice in TheInsider's Texas Hot 100 and now has his choice of schools to go to.

As Allen Wallace of The Insiders has reported Farr is over 20 offers and received May phone calls from LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, USC and Miami.

One team that has recently entered the DajLeon Farr sweepstakes is Nebraska. Farr has especially taken note of Nebraska due to their change in offense.

"I'm looking for a good education, playing time, and a nice atmosphere. Distance is not a factor. I want an offense that uses my position like USC, Arkansas, Miami and now Nebraska, with Head Coach Bill Callahan and the West Coast Offense, all do a good job of using the tight end."

As of right now USC, Miami, Texas and LSU are all recruiting Farr the hardest. Mel Farr, a former All-American at UCLA is DajLeon's cousin, but isn't pressuring DajLeon about UCLA who has also offered.

Farr isn't making any camp plans to work out, but he would like to attend some camps to meet the coaches and see some campuses. "I have no specific camps set. I'd really like to see as many schools as possible this summer. I can always visit the close schools -- Texas A&M, Texas and LSU. I can always visit them. I would like to visit some more colleges out of state."

North Shore is re-loading with talent this year and will challenge again for the 5A title again. They may not be deep with experience, but they are loaded with athletes.

Last year DajLeon only hauled in seven receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown, but some things are going to change. "Our offensive coordinator has put in more plays for me. None of the teams actually covered my position, but they need to put me in as one of the progressions. I'm pretty sure I'll be wide open again."

Although Farr isn't sure when Nebraska officially offered he is sure who he spoke with from Nebraska. "I spoke to Coach Blake. They came out to see me during the evaluation period and called. I also called them back. I've spoke with them a couple of times over the phone."

When asked to talk about the changes that Nebraska is going through on the offensive side of the ball he said, "I think it's great. That means I'd be involved in their offensive scheme because of the way they would run the West Coast Offense. It's very good."

DajLeon denies a leader and will take all of his trips. He has no idea who will get any of his official visits at this time and is wide open and considering everyone.

Farr is carrying a 2.7 GPA and scored an 18 on his ACT. He is planning on re-taking the ACT this weekend.
