Nebraska has offered Oak Creek product

The unofficial visits for the summer may be over for Raymond Henderson. He just returned from a trip to Miami last week and before that took unofficials to Wisconsin, Iowa and Notre Dame among others.

Raymond Henderson has so many offers that he keeps a card from each team that has offered in his wallet for quick reference. That's pretty smart. Off the top of his head he can rattle off about a dozen or so schools that have offered.

"There's so many," Henderson said, "I just don't know. Miami, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, and Iowa. I can't even name them all. Oh, UCLA and Nebraska too."

It's easy to see from Henderson's video why so many schools, so many prestigious schools, are interested in his services. "I'm fast off of the ball. I like hitting people. I want people to feel it when I hit them."

People have to begin to question what is in the water in Oak Creek, Wis. Last year, one of the nation's best defensive ends, Rhyan Anderson, hailed from Oak Creek. He had a similar list to Henderson's in terms of offers too. Although a rhetorical question Raymond Henderson had an answer.

"As a kid I just loved the game of football. I've played it all over. I actually moved here originally from New Orleans. My brother, Rashawn Henderson, is a fifth year senior at Northern Iowa. He's a cornerback."

Rhyan Anderson is just one year removed from Oak Creek and is in Miami already for conditioning. Henderson and his family just returned on Thursday from visiting Miami.

"I was there for about a week. I have a cousin there in North Miami. I got to watch practice and stuff. I liked it. Coach Coker was really nice to me and my family. He made us feel at home."

After seeing Henderson's film and knowing his stats it would be in every division one coaches' best interest to make Henderson feel at home while visiting. Last year Henderson had 104 tackles, 19 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He ended the year with All-Conference, All-Suburban, All-Area, and All-Region honors. There is one distinct honor missing from there.

"I got beat out by one point for All-State. Zach Davidson ended up getting the All-State nod over me. Last year was my first year at Oak Creek. I moved in from Milwaukee (Wis.) Vincent. I started there as a sophomore."

Henderson is planning on trimming his list in July and plans on taking all five officials before coming to a decision. "I am trying to get the most information on all the schools that have offered. I am going through my mail and on the internet researching them."

Henderson was asked to call Nebraska's Coach Blake earlier this spring. "He made me feel real comfortable. He told me that there is no better place for a player or a coach then there. All of the schools just offer me and Travis (Beckum) together. He said that they didn't offer Travis and that they only really want me."

Nebraska is being considered for one of the five officials, but Henderson insists that everyone that has offered is still being considered. "Yeah, it's still all up in the air."
