Ishie to make it "official"!

Ishie has made the call and spoke to....well....someone with the program. Anyway, it's as good as done. He will be a Husker.

Nebraska will be receiving a commitment from Ishie Oduegwu, a four-star safety from Denton (Texas) Ryan. After trying to commit to LSU and not having a scholarship available, Ishie has decided on Nebraska over Kansas State.

"I spoke with (Tim) Cassidy earlier today," Ishie said. "The coaches are real busy right now with practice. I told him that was where I wanted to be."

While Ishie isn't calling his commitment official yet without talking to a coach, he said that will be tonight. "I called Coach Gill's house and spoke to someone there. They said he wouldn't be home until late tonight. I called his cell earlier but it was off while he was in practice."

Ishie is a huge commitment for Nebraska who can come in and play in pass coverage and support the run as well as any other safety in the country. The 5-foot-9 and 185 safety totaled 152 tackles last year (30 for loss), grabbed 2 interceptions and recorded an amazing 15 pass break-ups.

"I'm going to call Coach Gill and make it official, although I am sure that he has already been given the head's up."
