"We won 70-3. I scored 5 touchdowns. I had 9 carries for 133 yards and four touchdowns. I had two receptions for eight yards and a touchdown," Lucky said.
He's nearing 500 yards rushing on the season after only three games. "I have 477 total yards rushing this season. We're 2-1. We lost a game by a point. I had 166 yards and no touchdowns in the loss."
Besides the season he's been busy with recruiting. The phone typically is always ringing at Lucky's. There is a short list of schools that call the most consistently though. "The most? Probably USC, Nebraska, LSU and Mississippi State are calling the most often."
Lucky isn't originally from California. He was born and raised in Dallas. Is he getting any attention from any of the Texas schools or would he? "I've been in California for four years. No, no Texas schools. I liked (the state of) Texas, but I wasn't really into Texas (UT), UTEP and Texas A&M."
Having not grown up a fan of any in-state school while in Texas he followed a team from the SEC. The problem for Lucky initially was that he wasn't getting any attention from his childhood preference. "I have followed Tennessee growing up. They aren't recruiting me either. They have sent me some articles, nothing really. It was frustrating. It was. I got over it."
One team, it seems was enough for Lucky to forget about the disappointment of not getting any recruiting attention from Tennessee. "USC. Just them. They are my leader right now. I know a lot about them. I don't know about the chances that I end up there. I going to take some trips to some other places."
One thing that is quite noticeable about USC is their depth at the tailback position and more to the point Reggie Bush. Is that something that Marlon is thinking about? "No, not really. I think that Reggie Bush will leave early."
Lucky has been to USC a few times so an official there isn't as necessary as it might be to take somewhere else. "I'll just take an unofficial to USC. I know all of the coaches. They're pretty cool. I've been there like six times. I was there for camps, practices and SATs."
"I will take officials to Washington, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Florida. I'm going to Nebraska on 10/16. I'll go on my visits when we go off track (two months off at the end of October)."
