Will Nebraska official get re-scheduled by Harris?

Few are more highly sought after in the nation at the safety or linebacker postion than Nic Harris. The Alexandria (LA) stand-out has the knowledge, speed and skill to play safety, but he also has the size to make him a possibility at linebacker.

Nic Harris comes in at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. It's easy to see why he and his team have been playing so well on the field. This past week was just another drumming at the hands of Alexandria.

"We won, 49-12. We're playing pretty good. It's nice."

As far as Harris's season is concerned he is tearing it up from about every position that he is playing. If he's not killing defenses with his 47.5 yard average per reception he is picking off a pass on defense or running back a punt for a touchdown.

"I have six interceptions, leading the team in all-purpose yards, two punt returns for touchdowns, an interception ran back for a touchdown, two receptions for 95 yards and I don't know my all-purpose yards. I play some wide-out. I also play free safety. I have over 85 tackles through 5 games. We're 4-1."

It's tough for some to get school, the season and visits in during the season. Harris has been active in trying to sort out his recruitment by some of the nation's best teams.

"I've taken two officials so far. I went to Oklahoma and I went to Texas A&M. I liked Oklahoma, I enjoyed it. The only thing that you can't compare about them is what they have done the past couple of years. Oklahoma has been winning. I feel that they are on the same level. Both facilities are nice and there is good player to coach relationships."

Schools may be standing in line with a handful of quickpicks hoping that Harris calls their name for one of the remaining three officials. The choices have already been made it seems.

"I've set up an official for Michigan for 10/30 and an official to Nebraska for 11/26. It still may be a schedule conflict. I was supposed to come in on 10/2 originally."

The last one may seem a bit up in the air, but when you hear that Harris has been looking at a specific game for a visit you have to think that it's pretty solid.

"LSU may get an official. I've been there six or seven times. I've been two games, two camps and I went down there for miscellaneous other things. I was thinking about taking an official there for the Ole Miss game."

While the final visits seem to be sorted out for Harris one thing that isn't sorted out is a timetable on when he will decide. One hot ticket for commiting has become the U.S. Army All-American game that Scout.com covers exclusively.

"Yes, I was invited to the U.S. Army All-American Game. I don't have a set time to commit. I may commit tonight or I might commit tomorrow. I'll let everyone know when I have made my choice."
