Catching Up With Ndamukong

When last we spoke with Ndamukong Suh, he had just returned from a visit to Mississippi State and had a previous visit to Nebraska. At that time, Suh reported that both MSU and Nebraska seem to have the edge on everyone else. As of speaking with Suh, it appears that two new teams have nudged in for a shot at the massive defensive tackle.

Five-star defensive tackle prospect Ndamukong Suh is obviously high on everyone's lists.  The 6' 5", 275-pound prospect out of Portland, Oregon isn't entertaining all offers, however.  At one point earlier in the year, Suh was looking at two schools specifically: Mississippi State and Nebraska.  However, it appears that both Miami and Oregon State have worked their way into the picture for Ndamukong to some day wear their colors.

One has to wonder that with all of the new attention if Suh hasn't heard much from his previous co-leader, Nebraska.  "Yes I have.  Just spoke with Coach Blake this evening."  Suh was asked if he and Coach Blake had a nice chat.  "Yes we did.  We talked about recruiting and me coming down there and how I'd fit in."  Surely, a defensive line coach could find a multitude of ways for the mammoth from the West Coast to fit into his system.

Right now, Ndamukong says that Nebraska, Mississippi State, Miami and Oregon state are all sitting on even par with each other for his services.  "I have two scheduled visits with them (OSU 11/20 and Miami on 12/4)."  The issue of Suh taking his fifth visit may not even come up.  "I'm not sure if I'm going to make that last visit and if so, I'm not sure to where."  When asked if he planned to make any other trips to either MSU or Nebraska, Suh said that at this time, there were no plans to do so.

Ndamukong said that he doesn't have a planned time on when he will commit, so it could be any time between now, the U.S. Army All-American Game and Signing Day.  On the year, Suh has 9 sacks and though he's not sure how many tackles he has, he's pretty sure there's a lot to his credit.  Whoever ends up picking up the stud from Portland will surely be that much happier once his name comes across the fax lines in February.
