Leon Jackson Discusses Marlon Lucky Commit

With the commitment of five-star runningback Marlon Lucky, one has to wonder about the effect his choice made on other members of Nebraska's recruiting class. There was some talk that Leon Jackson might be wavering in his commitment after finding out about his current class-mate. Does Leon intend to check out other avenues?

In recruiting, one thing that people worry about is commitments affecting other current commitments.  Such was the case with Marlon Lucky.  A fantastic prospect out of California, Lucky's recent commitment to Nebraska had spurred rumors about Leon Jackson possibly wavering on his commitment.  Leon professes that this could not be further from the truth.  He says, in fact, that he is 110% committed to the Cornhuskers as he was before, during and after the call.  So, what did Leon think about Lucky's commit?  "That's good, it makes our class even stronger.  Actually I'm really impressed. Looking at the web site and checking the average number of stars, we have a strong class," Jackson said.

Leon is currently playing in the Washington state playoffs.  His Pasco team defeated their last opponent 39-6 while Leon turned in the type of game that appears to be the norm for him.  Jackson had 14 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns.  In the second round of the playoffs, Leon's squad will face Walla Walla on route towards a chance at playing for the state title.  When asked about if he had any goals for the off-season, Jackson responded, "After football I'm gonna work hard, I really don't know if I'm gonna play basketball."  Jackson said that he is ready and willing to prepare for the challenge of being a Cornhusker.

Jackson said he finds himself daydreaming about walking onto Tom Osborne Field for the very first time and from the enthusiasm in his voice, he is very excited and anticipating being a Cornhusker.  Leon Jackson has shown he has the determination and potential to make life very fun for offensive coordinators and very miserable for those on the other side of the ball.
