Callahan visits Hickman while in California

One of the first commitments for this class was Jacob Hickman from Bakersfield, Calif. Jacob's season has ended and the Nebraska coaches were in-house to speak to the future Husker.

Jacob Hickman is one of the best prospects in the state of California this year. He is one of four commits coming from California while Nebraska has been putting together one of the best classes in the country this year.

"Coach Callahan and Coach Wagner were here. I'm not for sure if they like me as an offensive lineman or defensive. It doesn't make a difference to me where I play. None at all."

Like most, the season has ended and Hickman is biding his time until he can get to Lincoln. "Our season ended in the second round of the playoffs. We ended up being 7-5. I don't have any idea what my individual statistics were. I haven't checked them."

The honors for Hickman have started to come in. He is waiting to see about conference, league and state honors though. "The season isn't over yet for everybody. Right now they have what's called hometown All-Stars Show and I have got that the last two years and we are doing it tonight. It's my third year on that."

Head coaches are only allowed one in-house visit with recruits. "They just asked me if I had any questions about anything and a ton of different things. My mom has always been a Raiders fan so seeing Coach Callahan she is always excited about it."

Jacob had his choice form a number of schools about where to go to college. A lot of the colleges were closer and had other things to offer him. What made him select Nebraska?

"Definitely the coaching staff is good there. The academics are also good. I guess if you want to say anything it was the tradition."
