Will Reynolds still visit Nebraska in January?

It seems to be a common theme for Nebraska this year and that an offensive lineman takes a visit before going to Nebraska and decides not to visit Nebraska. It happened with Ryan Hebert, will it happen again with Garrett Reynolds?

Garrett Reynolds took his first official visit this weekend. The 6-foot-7 and 265 pound Reynolds from Strawberry Plains (Tenn.) Carter High School is projected to play offensive tackle at the next level.

"I took a visit down to North Carolina. I liked it. I was a great trip. I get along with all of those guys real good. I had fun," Reynolds said.

Reynolds mentioned some key points about Chapel Hill, N.C. that stood out to him. "The town, the coaches, players and atmosphere stood out. I got to see the UNC and Kentucky basketball game."

This isn't the first time that Reynolds has been on campus at North Carolina. "I went there this summer for camp in June. They offered me last spring. It was during my junior year."

There are plans following the visit to North Carolina to visit Nebraska. Those are the only two officials that he has scheduled so far. At this point though Reynolds is unsure about making that late visit to Nebraska.

"I have one for Nebraska for January 14. I think so. That is kind of late, so I am not sure yet if I will visit Nebraska. I'll have to take another look at it."

Moving the visit date is something that Nebraska and Reynolds already tried to do. "We already tried moving it up to December 17. We couldn't do it because all of the students will be gone for vacation at that time. They want me to see the campus with people there. They want me to check it out at a different time. It is a little bit later than what I want."

"I have the ACT test this weekend (12/10), so I can't make it this weekend. I don't know what the chances are that I will take the visit. I would like to, but I don't know. I'm going to think about all of that stuff over Christmas break."

Reynolds mentioned that making a phone call to the Nebraska coaches to update them with what he was thinking was probably needed. "I've only talked to the coaches to set up the visit. I need to call them back. That was with Coach Wagner."

Nebraska fans will have to wait and see through Christmas if this offensive tackle decides to make that commitment or take another official to be sure. We'll keep you posted.
