Nebraska takes on Louisville in NCAA Regional

The No. 1 ranked Nebraska Huskers (29-1) will take on the No. 15 ranked Louisville Cardinals (30-2) tonight for a 6 p.m. CT match up in the NCAA Volleyball Regional in the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.

This is the time of year all teams and fans look forward to, the NCAA Volleyball Tournament and for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, tonight it's a Sweet Sixteen match up with the Lousiville Cardinals.

Tonight will be Louisville's third NCAA Regional appearance, with the last time two times being in 1996 and 1998, but they have never advanced past the Sweet 16.

For Nebraska, this will be their 11th consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 appearance and 21st in school history. The Huskers and Cardinals have met one other time in NCAA postseason play, when the Huskers swept Louisville in the Sweet 16 of the 1996 NCAA Tournament 15-7, 15-6, 15-4.

In today's other Louisville Regional, No. 9 seed San Diego(24-4) will take on No. 8 seed USC (21-5) at 4 p.m. CT.

The winners of today's game will advance to the Regional Semifinal game on Saturday at 5 p.m. and will be shown live on College Sports Television.
