Lorenzo Jones makes decision on NU

Many have been waiting for the other shoe to fall and for Nebraska to fall of the recruiting horse that they have been riding since this summer. Well, Nebraska has lost two commits in the past three weeks now with the latest coming from a position that is a big need in the class.

The only story that wounded good from Lorenzo Jones to Husker fans was the follow-up to his official visit to Nebraska. That following week Jones had a lot of in-home visitors from other schools and seemed shaky on his commitment as soon as Monday night.

Lorenzo Jones looked to be a very welcome addition to a class that was in desperate need of some defensive linemen. Although he had maintained that he was still a commitment to Nebraska and maybe looking around, it looks as though that has changed entirely.

"I had committed to Nebraska, but I am not committed anymore," Jones said. "I called them up and decommitted."

Besides the loss of a commit, it's the quality of the commit that they are losing. Jones was easily considered one of the top defensive tackles in the Dallas-Metro area last year. "I had 93 total tackles, 16 tackles for a loss and five sacks."

The ability to stuff the run and make plays behind the line of scrimmage makes Jones a very hot commodity right now in the recruiting world. "I am planning on taking two more officials. I have been to Nebraska and Iowa State already."

"I am looking at taking official visits to Texas and Texas A&M possibly. Nebraska is still being considered and so is LSU. Oklahoma State offered me and Les Miles let me know that the offer is there for me at LSU now."
