Junior RB holds five written offers

DeMarco Murray will likely be one of the most heavily recruited players in the nation next recruiting cycle. He already holds written offers from Michigan, Florida, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Arizona.

High School: Bishop Gorman

DeMarco Murray rushed for 1,395 yards (150 carries) and 17 touchdowns, despite only starting eight games as a junior. He also caught 12 passes for 297 yards and three scores. He was named second team all-conference.

He could be a force in college on either side of the ball, and one school has already told him exactly where he could fit into their plans. "Ron English at Michigan has said that they like me as a defensive back, most likely at safety," explained Murray. "It is a tough question if I would rather play defensive back or running back. There are quite a few more top running backs out there then there are good defensive backs. I think you make a little more money in the NFL as a defensive back. But really, I think I prefer running back."

And what a running back he is. From watching Murray's tape you can see why five schools have already offered him. He has great speed and phenomenal moves.

"I have great vision. I make defenders miss in the open field, and I am a smart player."

Is he giving any hints early? "My favorite schools right now are the ones that have offered me. But, if I were to pick out a couple I would say Wisconsin and Florida. I also like Texas A&M, but they haven't offered yet."

What does he like about Nebraska? "I think they are going to do real good next year. I don't know too much about them, yet. But I do know that they have a great tradition and I hear they have a good staff."

Murray says that his parents will be leaving his college decision up to him. Scout.com will have another chance to see Murray up close as he will be one of the hundreds of juniors competing in the Army All-American junior combine being held this Sunday (Jan.16).

He carries a 2.8 core GPA and is taking his ACT on February 12th. Murray would like to major in Sports Management or Business.
