Husker commit looking around?

It seemed that it was a package deal, now it may not be. The opportunity is there for playing time and it was clear that this prospect was a hot commodity to Nebraska coaches. There seems to be a lot of questions about his status now.

It was pretty clear that Wallace Franklin didn't know what to make of the visit that Calvin Mickens was taking to Oklahoma State this weekend. The Beaumont (Texas) Ozen standout did say that Calvin already left for Oklahoma.

"He (Calvin) left today for Oklahoma State," Franklin said. "Oklahoma State had been recruited both of us really hard and offered us both recently. They wanted us to officially visit together."

What does this mean about the Husker commit's status? Well, it was clear to Wallace that he wasn't real sure.

"He just said that he wanted to go visit. He did tell me that he was still committed to Nebraska. I think that it is more like an extra trip, but I don't know."

Wallace went on to say that he was unsure if Mickens had informed the Nebraska coaches about deciding to take an additional visit before signing.

This is a very alerting situation considering the timing of the visit and letter of intent signing day coming up next week. Big Red Report will let you know what Mickens' thoughts were about the visit and his status as soon as we can!
