Rumors true about grayshirt for Jordan Picou?

The need for linemen this year was evident. The help has come in the form of offensive tackles from the JUCO ranks. The Huskers were fortunate enough to land two of their more highly rated tackles on their board. But, does one have some academic issues that won't allow him to see the field next year for Nebraska?

It all seemed like Nebraska's prayers for offensive tackles were being answered a few weeks ago. Now, does one of those offensive tackles have some academic hurdles that may be too high to climb to be in Lincoln this summer?

It's no secret; Jordan Picou probably has his work cut out for him this semester to get to Lincoln. His plans still involve Lincoln though and playing this season.

"It's going pretty good," Picou said about school. "I don't know how many credit hours I am taking this semester for sure. You would have to talk to Coach Busch on that one."

The last time we spoke with Jordan Picou about his commitment he said that he needed 18 hours to wrap up his coursework to transfer to Nebraska. The 18 hours are a tall task and maybe a key to the rumors about him being a gray shirt candidate.

"I will hopefully be done in May. There isn't any truth to me gray shirting. That (gray shirting) is not in my plans."

"It's still the plan to be done in May and be in Nebraska this June. I am going to get my AA in Pre-Physical Therapy. I would like to get into physical therapy and sports rehabilitation."

Beyond the need to keep his coursework up to date he is staying busy keeping in the best shape that he can. A mild case of "senioritis" too, but it is really brought on by wanting to get to Lincoln.

"I am ready to get to Nebraska. I am working out and staying in shape. I am lifting weights, staying in shape and trying to keep my mind focused. I want to be ready when I get there."
