First written offer reaches Chad Roark

An offer has been all that has eluded Chad Roark so far this year. That has come to an end. The film has made its way into the hands of some of the nation's best teams. Who was the first to step up and offer? Could it have been an invitation to join his brother in Lincoln?

The word is spreading fast about the latest product from Ada (Okla.). Not only that, but it is literally taking days for the film to reach some teams then to turn around and offer.

"Yeah I got an offer from LSU earlier," Roark said. "They have only been recruiting me since Wednesday."

"They got my film on Wednesday, watched it Thursday I guess and I got the offer today in the mail. It was pretty cool."

Roark had this to say about the offer and about LSU, "It's an offer and they are a top ten program. I am familiar with Les Miles from camp last year at Oklahoma State."

"They got a new defensive line coach, Coach Dunbar, who coached for the Chicago Bears and he wants me to play defense. That's awesome. It's a great conference that they play in. They are always contenders in the conference."

Chad is the younger brother of Nebraska signee, Craig Roark. The eldest brother couldn't help but be excited for the offer for Chad. "He thinks that a bunch of them will start rolling in like they did for him last year."

"I am going to go to some of LSU's spring practices this year. I will head down there for that or something."

The last time that Big Red Report caught up with Roark it seemed that teams like Texas A&M and Kansas State were both close to offering. What is the story with those two teams?

"Well yeah, I haven't spoken to them all week. I haven't been able to get a hold of them. I am sure we will know by next Tuesday. I should get offers from them by next Tuesday."

Chad Roark had let it known early last year that following his brother to Lincoln would be a great opportunity. Since then, Nebraska is anticipating seeing Chad at camp this summer to evaluate him more closely.
