LB Tongo Names Early Favorites

Yesterday we focused on up and coming linebacker Osahon Tongo. We had the chance to catch up with the 6-foot-3, 220-pound, linebacker, from Naperville (Ill.) North and he told us who has been in contact with him, which schools are at the top of his early wish list and where he'll be camping this summer. Check it out.

"Wisconsin sends me a lot of mail," Osahon Tongo said. "Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Iowa and Kansas State send me the most personal mail.

"I don't have any offers yet. My coach (Larry McKeon) is in the process of making a highlight tape for me. Coach (McKeon) told me that he's had more tape requests for me than he can keep up with.

"My favorites are Wisconsin, Kansas State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Indiana, Illinois and Northern Illinois.

"I'm not sure on camps yet this summer. Maybe Illinois and Wisconsin, I'm just not sure yet. I think I'll wait and see who shows the most interest in the spring."

Tongo had 60 solo tackles, 4 caused fumbles and 2 sacks as a junior. He was named all-conference and all-area in 2004.

Tongo's parents are from Nigeria, he was born in West Lafayette, Indiana, while his parents were attending graduate school at Purdue. Osahon has an older brother who attends Illinois and a younger brother who attends Naperville North.
