Junior O-Lineman Likes Nebraska

James Ryan, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound, offensive lineman from Batavia, Illinois camped at Nebraska last year and did extremely well. Ryan will be back this summer and he's hoping to receive a scholarship offer.

College coaches from coast to coast have been calling the Midwest Film & Evaluation hotline, raving about an offensive lineman by the name of James Ryan.

Ryan is a 6-foot-5, 280-pound, offensive and defensive lineman from Batavia, Illinois. James is a four-year starter that had his goals set high from his first day on campus.

"It was my goal to play on the varsity as a freshman." Ryan said. "I knew that I could play with the older guys. My teammates gave me a lot of support."

Batavia head coach, Mike Gaspari says that Ryan is a definite prospect.

"He's (Ryan) legit." Gaspari said. "He'll be a four-year starter for me. He played around 300 pounds as a junior but cut 30 pounds for wrestling.

This is his first year wrestling and he's doing great. I've been telling everyone that James is the real deal and I've started to get some real positive feedback from the college coaches.

Nebraska loves James. He camped there last year and was one of their best offensive lineman in the camp."

Ryan missed most of his junior with an MCL injury but he's 100% now and he's ready for his senior season.

"I might go to two or three camps. I went to Nebraska last year and was singled out as one of the two best linemen in the camp. The other guy was a senior and Nebraska offered him a scholarship.

I'm probably hearing from Michigan the most right now. Nebraska, Iowa, Penn State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame are all writing letters.

My top five right now would be Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin."
