Mike Ware, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker from Aurora (Ill.) Waubonsie Valley will be among the top linebacker recruits in Illinois for the 2003 season.
Ware will be a three-year starter who had a tremendous 2001 campaign. Mike had 109 tackles and 10 sacks. Those numbers were good enough to earn 1st team all-area honors.
"I feel that Mike is a D-1 prospect." Said Waubonsie head coach, B.J. Luke. "He will be even faster this year. He led our team in tackles and was one of the best defensive players in our conference."
Beside being a tackling machine, Ware also blocked three punts and he also had an interception.
"I'm hearing from a lot of schools right now." Ware said. "My top schools right now would be Notre Dame, Iowa, Penn State, Duke and Nebraska."
Ware has a sister that's a freshman at Duke University.
Stay tuned for more on Mike Ware in the near future!
