Vangas Will Camp at Nebraska

Ohio's Chris Vangas will be among the nations elite offensive line prospects for 2002. Nebraska has an excellent shot at landing this super talented prospect.

The nations top center last year (Bobby Morton) was from Lone Star State. This years top center could very well be from the Buckeye State.

Everyone is talking about 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive lineman, Chris Vangas from Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade-Julienne.

Vangas will be a three-year starter. He was named all-conference after his sophomore season and this past year he was named to the all Southwest Ohio squad.

Chris says he's hearing from several schools.

"I'm hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, Clemson, Syracuse, Pitt, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Pitt, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Notre Dame." Vangas said.

"My top schools right now would be Ohio State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin."

Vangas doesn't have any offers at this time and he said he'll be attending one of the Midwest Nike Camps this spring and he'll be camping at Nebraska (2nd Session) this summer.

It's early but Nebraska and Michigan State may have a little bit of an edge at this point. Chris will attend the Nike Camp to be held on the Michigan State campus this coming spring. A couple of former players from Chaminade play football for the Spartans.

The Nebraska coaching staff loves Vangas and his down and dirty, throwback style of play. Chris will be in Lincoln this summer for the second session of camp with the Huskers.
