Bo Ruud, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound, linebacker from Lincoln (NE) Southeast is among the top prospects in the Big 12 region. Ruud will be heavily recruited in 2002 but he says he's solid with the Huskers.
"I'm pretty set on Nebraska." Ruud said. "I've grown up on Nebraska football. Kids grow up their whole lives wanting to play against Nebraska because of the tradition. When they (Husker staff) offered I jumped on it right away.
Growing up in Nebraska it's almost a birth right to play for the Huskers. I've seen friends of mine leave to play for Notre Dame and other schools and there are Nebraska fans that still haven't gotten over that.
It took Scott Frost to win a National Championship for the fans to accept him again after he left and then transferred back in."
I'm still getting letters from other schools but I won't be looking around."
Ruud will be a three-year starter. In 2001, he had 70 tackles and five sacks. He was named 1st team all-conference and 2nd team super state.
