Allan Shipley, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound, two-way lineman from Moon, Pennsylvania was named all state in 2001. Shipley is only a sophomore and he was named all state as a freshman as well.
Shipley shot onto the scene after an impressive showing on the summer camp circuit in 2001. Several college coaches were raving about his ability and also said he was the best lineman at camp regardless of age.
"I get letters from Stanford, Michigan State, Pitt, Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, Purdue and others." Shipley said.
"The schools I'm most interested in now are Notre Dame, Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska.
I'm going to hitting some more camps this summer. Probably Michigan State, Notre Dame and maybe Nebraska."
Shipley was also named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 22 team. He could play on either side of the ball at the next level.
Extremely strong and quick for his age, reminds me a lot of Ohio's Quinn Pitcock. Pitcock signed with the Buckeye's earlier this month.
