Huskers could get summer unofficial visit

A receiver that is looking to make a big impression this fall is Terrell Turner. Turner is already holding some very good offers, but this fall could really be his ticket to a bunch more. He is busy with baseball and seven on seven football this summer, but is planning on some camps and unofficial visits. Can Nebraska get an unofficial?

Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial is known for turning out football talent. Terrell Turner is a man of many hats though and not only stars on the gridiron, but on the baseball diamond as well. Things could be going better for Turner and his team so far this season.

"Not too good! We lost our first eight games," Turner said. "Then we just played again tonight and lost again. They have me playing left field. We are down on some guys so they had to put me out there to fill in."

While Turner and his team aren't having a lot of success on the baseball field they are already in seven on seven. Lakeview hosted a tournament a couple of weeks ago and as tournament hosts normally do, they won their own tournament. Well, that's what usually will happen when you score 40+ per game.

"We did really good in our seven on seven tournament the other weekend at Lakeview. I thought that I played pretty well. I think that I had seven or eight touchdown catches. We were averaging over 40 points per game. We won the tournament. Word has been getting around that Lakeview is coming up."

The 6-foot-2 and 185 pound Turner is holding fast at 10 offers. "I still have 10 offers. Let's see, they're from Oklahoma, Tulsa, UTEP, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Colorado State, Georgia Tech and one other one."

Turner has a lot of scheduling conflicts this summer that will prohibit him from making some camps and from taking some unofficial visits. So far, he has one camp set up for later this month and is possibly eyeing an unofficial visit in July.

"I am trying to get up for the Tulsa camp that is either on June 16 or June 17. I don't have any unofficial visits set, I have just been too busy. Coach Bennett talked to me about going to Nebraska this summer. I might go visit them in July. I'll definitely go up there for a visit."

Turner really hasn't had a chance to sit down and think about leaders. It's due in large part because it's not fair to rate what you haven't seen. Turner plans on sorting his leaders as he researches and sees a school. "Right now everyone is all even. I haven't really seen any of these schools yet."

Turner will be looking at planning and setting up his official visits later this summer. He is planning on taking his official visits during the season this fall. "I don't have any officials set or planned yet. I am going to get that out of the way after I get seven on seven and baseball over with. I am planning on taking the officials during the season."
