De'Shon Matthews Starting To Plan Officials

With Nebraska losing some significant talent from the front four of its defensive front after the following season, the need is there for some quality insurance for the future. De'Shon Matthews would allow the Cornhuskers some of that immediately. We were able to catch up with De'Shon and speak with him about his offer total and the possibility of a trip to Lincoln.

As the Cornhusker scour the country for talented linemen on both sides of the ball, the need is there at both ends, the offensive line is just in a more dire position. Still, defensive linemen are a need rather than a want and that's where Elk Grove, California's De'Shon Matthews comes into play.

Recently, the 6' 5" 253-pounder received offers from Fresno State, Sacremento State and Nevada bringing his total offers to ten. He currently has no more plans for any camps, unofficial visits or combines for the rest of the summer, but he's starting to line up his fall itinerary as we speak.

Matthews informed us that he does, in fact, have an official visit set up right now with one planned. That set up official visit is to Lincoln to watch the Cornhuskers take on quarterback Zac Taylor's former team in Wake Forest. "I'm taking one to the University of Nebraska and we're planning on doing one for Arizona and that's all I'm sure of right now," said Matthews.

Currently, two teams stand out as Matthews' favorites. "Right now, it's California and UCLA," he said. Arizona and Fresno State are two other teams that De'Shon feels have a chance to break into his favorites and he also noted that he feels that once he visits Nebraska, he'll be able to get a lot of questions answered as to whether the Cornhuskers are right for him.
