Joshua Tatum Announces New Top 8

With Nebraska chasing after some of the finest athletes in the country, literally, there's plenty of talent around for the taking. One such prospect is Oakland's Joshua Tatum. We were able to catch up with Tatum and find out which teams made the cut in his most recent list. Was Nebraska amongst the schools remaining?

Five-star prospect Joshua Tatum has some of the finest institutions after him for one overall reason: he's just that good.  While Tatum reports no new offers, he is up to 33 total with offers coming from schools such as USC, Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, California, UCLA, LSU, New Mexico State, Fresno State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kansas and Kansas State.

He reports that he is finished with the summer recruiting trail and is focused more on upcoming seasonal official visits.  He is currently setting up a date with Oklahoma and would like to visit Miami, Tennessee, Miami and Michigan officially as well.

Tatum recently sat down and made up a new Top 8 and unfortunately for Cornhusker fans, Nebraska didn't make the cut.  USC, California, Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Oregon hold the edge for Tatum at this time.

Even though he eliminated the Cornhuskers, Tatum was very complimentary of the staff overall and his comments go to show that sometimes when you offer a lot of prospect, it can have negative effects as well as positive ones.  "When I narrowed down my top list, they weren't in there, but I have a lot of respect from the staff.  I noticed they've offered so many guys, so that kind of eliminated them," he said.
