Spiller narrowing things down for officials

Speed kills and if you are looking for a running back with speed than look no further than C.J. Spiller. Spiller had the fastest time of any player at the Scout.com combines as a sophomore a year ago has now repeated that feat as a junior. Who is the talented Florida running targeted as possible schools for his official visits?

C.J. Spiller is pretty good. The Lake Butler (Flor.) Union County running back averaged just over 11 yards per carry last year and has had the fastest 40 time for the past two years at Scout.com's combines. Can you believe that he is working on his speed still?

"The summer is going good," Spiller said. "I have been working out and trying to improve my speed. I also started watching tape already. I want things to become second nature on the field."

The North Florida product isn't actually narrowing things down yet, but he has some ideas where he wants to spend his official visits today. "I have actually started to look at a top five or six for my official visits. I would say that I am looking at USC, Oklahoma, probably Texas, Auburn, Georgia and maybe Tennessee. If LSU were to offer they would be in that top five."

"I don't have offers from USC, Oklahoma or Texas. I have picked those schools to officially visit because they are a bit spread out from the others. I will take unofficials to the Florida schools because I can just drive there."

The 5-foot-11 and 185 pound standout rushed for 1,415 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior and is also still holding an offer from Nebraska. An offer that he is still considering and hasn't totally shut the door on, yet.

"I like Nebraska and am still considering them for an official visit. I know their offense and that would be good for me coming into that situation."
