Travis Goethel Responds to Recruiment

Vista, California Linebacker prospect Travis Goethel is starting to get into the swing of major recruiting by taking a look at where he would like to visit and eventually end up. With already one official visit in the bag, he looks to schedule two more and lists a top four. Goethel also commented about his currently relationship with Nebraska.

Travis Goethel projects very nicely from the linebacker spot.  His height, weight and speed dictate a probable future at MIKE regardless of where he goes, though if he manages to drop weight without losing speed, he could be an ideal SAM.

He is currently up to six offers from Nebraska, Oregon State, Utah, Colorado, UCLA and San Diego State.  This past summer, he visited SDSU for a passing tournament which also doubled as an unofficial visit.  This upcoming season, Goethel plans to work on knowing where everyone is on the field, getting that football "sixth sense", as it were.

Currently, Travis has one official visit scheduled, that being when he will visit Utah as they take on Air Force on September 22nd.  Two other schools he is in the process of scheduling visits with are Nebraska and Notre Dame.  His top seven includes the Irish along with all of his current offers.

Said Goethel of his relationship with Nebraska, "They've sent a lot of mail.  I haven't talked to the coaches lately but they're really nice guys.  They were one of the big programs growing up and the first big college football game I saw was the 1998 Holiday Bowl (Where Arizona defeated Nebraska 23-20)."
