Las Vegas' Cummings Updates Big Red Recruitment

During a local football game, Las Vegas, Nevada's Troy Cummings took some time to yell over the crowd as sacks and big plays occurred to fill us in on what's been happening with him. Find out about his general thoughts on the recruiting process, his feelings on Nebraska along with his thoughts on official visits and all other pertinent information.

Sitting in the stands at a local high school football game, Las Vegas' Troy Cummings was eager to talk, but was unsure if his voice would come in clearly.  Luckily for us, it did and we were able to find out what the 6' 0", 180-pound prospect feels when it comes to the recruiting game now heating up in earnest.

Currently, he is sitting on three offers from Nebraska, Oregon State and Illinois and recently took an unofficial trip to UNLV.  "It was a pretty good time overall," he said.  In his last game, Cummings had a few catches for approximately 97 yards and a couple of touchdowns all while suffering from a pulled groin that occurred while making a cut in practice.

This season, once he regains 100% status, he will be working on his downfield blocking and his strength.  He reports that all three schools see him as primarily a receiver prospect and while he has no officials scheduled yet, that is something he plans to take care of after the season with his three current offers likely to get one a piece.

Looking at his relationship with Nebraska, the communication has been decent but Cummings looks forward to the coaches' calls.  "I haven't really called anyone yet, but I've been getting mail.  Over time, as it starts developing, I think it'll go good and most likely, I'll end up taking a trip," he said.
