J.B. Walton's got a lot on his plate these days. First there's the standard schoolwork that comes for any young student athlete. Then, of course there's practice and the thrill of the first game of the season. "We're 1-0, but we didn't do really well and we've got a game coming up on Friday. I thought I did well overall, though. I have stuff I need to improve on but overall I felt I did well. It was a struggle overall in the second quarter but we got it back in gear in the second half and pulled it out," he said.
Walton has trimmed down his schools of consideration and the lucky six are: Florida, LSU, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida State and Nebraska. Walton was expected to visit the Cornhuskers for their game versus rival Oklahoma but noted that he was unsure he would be able to make the trip. He noted, however, that if he missed that trip, he would make another one at the most convenient opportunity.
J.B. has been spending the most time speaking with Nebraska Cornerbacks Coach Phil Elmassian and has enjoyed the conversations. "I spoke with him and felt comfortable with him. It was a really good conversation. We just talked about school and he talked a little about their program and what they were doing," he said.
