Benji Kennedy, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound, dual-threat quarterback from Morris, Illinois will be among the top prospects in the Land of Lincoln is 2002. Kennedy led the Redskins to a runner-up finish in last years Illinois State Championships.
Kennedy just might be the fastest quarterback in the state of Illinois and most of the D-1 schools that run an option attack have looked at Kennedy as a possible recruit.
Word around the campfire is that now several schools would like Kennedy to play a defensive back position.
"I still haven't been offered a scholarship but I'm hearing from a lot of schools." Kennedy said.
"I'd say that Notre Dame, Iowa, Northwestern and Illinois are recruiting me the hardest right now.
"I'm going to Notre Dame's spring game on April 28th. I'm also going to the Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Iowa spring games.
"Nebraska, Northwestern, Illinois and Notre Dame are still my favorites."
Kennedy threw for 1,000 yards in 2001 and he had a combined 23 passing and rushing touchdowns.
