Summers Brothers Chat About Each Other And NU

Playing on the same team can definitely be an advantage when you're looking to go to college together and right now, the Summers Brothers out of Olive Branch, Mississippi are proving that theory correct. We sat down with both Anthony and Markeith to get their takes on recruiting, their season and the views of each other on the field.

Speaking to the Summers Brothers this time of year is always a treat because while Anthony is throwing the football, Markeith is often times the one catching it. Currently, Olive Branch is 3-0 and Anthony has thrown for 9 touchdowns with 0 interceptions along with running in 3 scores.  Said Anthony Summers of his brother, "He started out a little slow but he's really picked it up lately," he said.  Markeith Summers would agree with his brother's assessment of his play.  "I was in a bit of a slump, but things have improved," he said.

The boys both recently received offers from Arkansas and Texas bringing their total number up to around 25 offers a piece.  Anthony admits that his ideas for official visits change by the day.  "Today it'd be like Florida, LSU and Texas, but it changes day by day," he said.  Both he and Markeith are wide open to the recruiting process right now.

Anthony speaks with the Cornhusker coaching staff on a nearly daily basis and Nebraska is still in the running for an official visit with him.  Markeith noted that naturally he'd have to be okay with the idea of traveling to Lincoln if they decide to go that route, but where Anthony goes, Markeith usually isn't too far behind and is interested in a trip to see the Big Red play.
